Import a Hyundai i20 from Germany

A used Hyundai i20 usually costs less in Germany than in Spain, and bringing it over is simpler than it looks: inside the EU there are no customs or duties. What there is: transport, ITV, registration tax and paperwork — exactly what we calculate here.

Example: Hyundai i20 2021, 74 kW, petrol

We take a typical listing at 5900 € in Germany and work out what it would cost at your door in Murcia on Spanish plates:

Car in Germany5900 €
Listing price5900 €
Bringing and registering in Spain2103 € – 2516 €
Truck transport1300 €
Registration tax (IEDMT)233 € – 586 €
Import ITV200 €
COC certificate (if needed)0 € – 60 €
Registration, agent, road tax, plates370 €
AutoAlemania service1710 €
Inspection and verification · paid when ordered · deducted from the total if you buy500 €
AutoAlemania service (VAT incl.)1210 €
Sum of all items9713 € – 10.126 €
Inspection paid when ordered, deducted500 € → −500 €
Total on the road (indicative) ≈ 9213 € – 9626 €

The registration tax depends on CO₂ (146 g/km, estimated → rate 4,75 %–9,75 %) and is assessed on the Hacienda table value (14.000 € for this model new, with an age coefficient), not on the purchase price.

We start with the inspection: 500 € when you order it (a separate service, not a deposit). If you buy the car, those {amount} come off the final price — the total above already has them deducted.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to import a Hyundai i20?

Usually 1–2 weeks from confirmation and ordering the inspection: verification, purchase, transport (3–7 days), ITV and registration.

What documents do I need?

Just your DNI or NIE and an address in Spain. The car is registered in your name; we handle everything else.

Can it be financed?

Yes, like any used car in Spain. We work with partner lenders; each car page shows an indicative monthly payment.

What if the car fails the inspection?

It is not bought: we only buy when condition, history and mileage are verified. The 500 € inspection fee pays for the work carried out (not refunded), and the inspection of the next car you choose is 50% off.
